A Valentine Session

Chicago Children and Family Photographer | Sharon Gaietto Photography

To think, two years ago, I purchased a giant heart pillow, thinking it would make an awesome prop for Valentine photos. Well, two years later, I have yet to use it (not counting pictures of my own kids) and I have come to the realization that less is more. This Valentine session is a great example of how some simple outfit choices and an accessory or two are all you need.

On January 30th, this sweet fellow came to the studio for some Valentine portraits. His mom had him ready to go, with a super cute tie, and two adorable outfits.

The tie and the onesie with the tie were both purchased on Etsy. For clients interested in incorporating such items into their sessions (ties, hats, headbands, etc.), I am going to start encouraging my clients to take a look on Etsy, prior to the session. I could spend all day browsing and spending a small fortune, and in the end not finding something that a client might want to use. By allowing the client to purchase their items, I am guaranteed a positive result. The other great option will be, to give me the purchased items after the session in return for an extra image or two (depending on the amount purchased) toward your package. It’s a win, win for everyone!
