When one thinks of Montrose Harbor, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the great view of the city’s skyline. This is definitely one of the best spots on the north side to get a panoramic view of our spectacular city. This is usually what draws people to choose this location to have family portraits.
There are some other great spots at Montrose Harbor that make for a great backdrop. There is a Chicago flag on the side of a storage container, that surprisingly, makes for a very fun and unique backdrop.
To add some interesting lines to you photo, there is a fence near the bird sanctuary. The steps (retaining wall), located at the lakefront, is another option.
The trees are a great place to photograph the kids. They are rather entertained and you are able to capture some pretty genuine smiles.
You don’t have to be in the trees to capture a nice photograph. Montrose Harbor has some great big tress that offer a very attractive backdrop. Planning your session in the fall has some amazing results.
There is also a path, that makes for some interesting perspective shots.
So, on your next trip to Montrose Harbor, be sure to explore and check out some other great spots for your photos. However, don’t forget to get that skyline shot!
