In-home Newborn Session

Even before this little guy came into the world, his parents knew they wanted an in-home newborn session. I was more then happy to accommodate their needs. So, the session was scheduled and off I went on a rather cold and snowy day. These new parents could not have made a wiser choice, then to stay in their nice and cozy home with their new baby boy.

It’s always nice to have a sleepy baby during the session. Though, at times that is not always the case. For this particular session, it was the best of both worlds, sleepy baby at times and other times a wide awake baby. It allowed me to grab a variety of images.

Spring Session with Twins

I first met these two when they were only 6 months old. It was winter time and we had the session at the studio. They were just learning to sit up by themselves. Fast forward 18 months and I can’t even keep up with them. They kept me on my toes while we took some photos at Lincoln Park Zoo.

I’m a Big Sister! | Newborn Session with a Sibling

It is always fun to see how a child reacts to having a new baby brother or sister. So many changes to adjust to and comprehend. Once the center of attention, needing to now share the spotlight. It’s not always the easiest thing to accept. However, what is lost in being the only child is gained ten fold by being a sibling. Having a friend for life, is priceless.

It was very clear when photographing these sisters, that the bond was already strong. The kisses on the forehead and the need to give hugs, was a clear indication that this big sister loves her new baby sister.

When these three sisters came by the studio, I knew it was going to be a fun session. It was obvious how much they loved each other. The youngest was not quite sure what to think about the whole thing, but once she saw her older sisters smiling at the camera, she knew it was OK to do the same.

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too | Indoor & Outdoor Session in One

It doesn’t happen often, but on those rare occasions, everything just clicks and records are broken. I offered a family an outdoor session and an indoor session with a cake smash. I allowed at least an hour and a half to accomplish it all. I had the entire session shot in less then an hour. It was all done in record time!

We first met at the local park, just a few minutes from my studio. There, I was able to photograph the birthday boy, who was being very cooperative.

I then got a few shots of the family. A few clicks of the camera and we were off to the studio.

Once at the studio, I grabbed a few shots in front of a cream backdrop (purchased at LemonDrop Stop). My little buddy didn’t skip a beat.

We wrapped up the session with a yummy whipped cream topped birthday cake. It was probably one of my sweetest sessions. Two locations, three backdrops and a cake in 48 minutes!

How Quickly A Year Goes By | 1 year session with cake smash

Last April, I had a brand new baby girl visit the studio. I was able to capture a photo that I always wanted to take of my own children, but never did. I was so happy to have had the opportunity to give this family such a memorable image.

Before I knew it, she was back for her 1 year session. Where did the time go? How quickly the year went by. She no longer fit in her Dad’s fire helmet.

We couldn’t have a 1 year session without a cake smash. She loved every minute of it. From the first taste of frosting…

to the last mouthful of cake. There was a smile from ear to ear!

I enjoyed my time with this expecting couple. You can see the happiness on their faces as they await the arrival of their baby.
